2nd football game...Better or Worse ?

Updated: Nov 19, 2019

At the beginning of my second football game.. i knew right away i wanted to shoot belton side. I just knew by the lighting they had & the reflective surface the dancers outfits had.

what could I have done differently? looking back at the game I wish I moved around for these pictures.. maybe a different angle or even a different lens. I feel as if that could've made a huge difference for the outcome of these pictures. it could've added more variety.

In this picture, I found it fascinating the team huddling together.. getting ready to start this game. I really wish I went into this game using a macro lens higher up and closer in...for the picture.

what I did realize this game is that I wasn't afraid to get in up close to the dancers.. getting a closer look you can say.

The run out is my favorite part of the football, looking through the lens and watching over 20 players run towards you. this game I didn't move as fast as I did last time... this time I sat there longer to get a closer shot...I do think my settings could've better at this game.

my first game my reactions weren't so good, so this game I focused more on my reactions. Although at some point I did focus to much on my reactions rather then the game.

This is my favorite reaction i got, the team just scored a touchdown and the coaches were filled with excitement, pure joy... and i was lucky enough to turn my head and capture this shot.

Here is another picture from the same moment.. I got all three of their reactions. maybe I could've gotten a different picture from another angle. but I still think this is a great shot.

i couldn't decide if this would be considered a reaction, but after looking at the different expressions i think it is one... especially because the two coaches shown they are hard to catch their reaction.

Here is the start of my action shots. I think they could've been a lot better. my settings were all wrong the first half of the game.

here is a better example of my settings being wrong, I wish I would've stopped and checked to adjust them, but I didnt. this picture does catch my eye though.

here is how my pictures should've looked, if my settings were correct. because they were not it is hard to use any of my action pictures.

This picture is right before the play began. when they watching the ball to see who they need to cover and keep away.

this is also another comparison on how my settings should've been different than what they were.

For half time and anytime after I was not able to get any of those pictures.. the half time show in my eyes was the best I had ever seen the face paint, the dramatic music, the outfit changes were all amazing. the challenge about shooting was timing their moves, it wasn't the same as my first game were I got predict when they would jump or not. by the end of the game i say i learned a lot... I was able to know where to stand by myself instead of watching others. i had a trick to myself to angle myself from the person on the edge of the football team. i do wish i had the pictures i had great up close shots of the players crossing the line getting a touch down. towards the end of the third quarter i did switch to a macro lens and i got into the team huddles. i got up close to the band during the line dancing they were doing..overall i believe this game was better even though i didnt get to keep all my pictures, i still feel as if i learned alot rom this game.
